Jungle Cock Nails

Eyes

Description

Small black-and-white "nailed" hackle feathers from the Indian jungle fowl (Gallus sonneratii). Used as eyes on classic salmon flies — one feather set on each side of the wing, lacquered tips trimmed even. The species is CITES-listed; source only from sustainably-farmed capes (Conranch, Ewing, or vintage stocks) and avoid wild-collected feathers.
