Black-Japanned Salmon Hook

Heavy traditional salmon hook with a looped or turned-up eye and a black-lacquer (japanned) finish. Used for fully-dressed Atlantic salmon flies and married-wing classics; common sizes 4 to 4/0 for display, sizes 2 to 6 for fishing. Modern equivalents include the Partridge CS10/M, Daiichi 2421, and Mustad 36890. Pinch or remove the barb for catch-and-release water.
