Golden Pheasant Tail

Center tail feather of the golden pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus) — long, tan-mottled with dark transverse bars. Used in slips for classic salmon-fly wings and as a body covering on patterns like the Lady Caroline. Distinct from ringneck (Phasianus colchicus) pheasant tail used in nymphs; the golden's barring is broader and more contrasted.
